Champion Motor Racer Maico Buncio dies at 22

Manila, Philippines - The four-time national champion superbike racer Maico Buncio died yesterday.

He was considered as the country's fastest man on two-wheels.

Saturday afternoon, he was brought to UST hospital after the fatal injuries while on a time trial practice at Clark Field, Pampanga. The next day he died, despite the effort of the doctors to save him.

Buncio, the official Philippine representative to the Asian Road Racing Championships (ARRC) started riding his motor bike when he was only  2 years old.

His family is planning to file a suit against the organizers and the owner of Clark Speedway Racing Circuit for being negligent in their race track that apparently has a steel railing which caused the injury.
